Moody and Colorful house refresh
This was such a fun project to work on! This client had moved into a new house apartment in a very historic neighborhood here in Dallas. Her style is very eclectic and colorful, and she has a great eye for pieces that really stand out to her. This was a very collaborative design, as she knew what she generally wanted, but needed help melding everything together. She has a collection of all kinds of beautiful pieces from over the years, so we designed her spaces to make sure that all of those collected pieces would meld seamlessly with the new pieces we were purchasing.
This project consisted of 4 different rooms, which we worked on over time, starting in the living room, then the dining room, and then adding in the bedroom and office when she was ready.
*Note: These images are renderings that were provided to the client. They are representative of items that have been selected, but not always exact matches. Final photos of the room are yet to come as this project has not quite wrapped up yet. Designs take time, I will update once the design is complete!

There were 4 different spaces within this project. Her rooms are on the more conservative side of sizing, as this is an old house. She wanted a space fit for hosting, as she has people over frequently, and we wanted to make sure everything was also comfortable and spacious while not overtaking the size of the rooms.
The peloton in the bedroom was a fun piece to work around, as was the inset space of the bed area. Fun cabinet benches under the window and built in drawers in the closet as well made for specific arrangements to work around in the office. And the flow of the living room, dining room, and kitchen was something we paid a lot of attention to as we worked through our selections.

This home has so much character, and that is one of the things that made it so fun to design! The walls are heavily textured warm beige plaster. The ceilings curve in at the top. The fireplace in the living room was the most unique arched tile design with warm multi-colored ceramic style tiles. And every room has its own unique details to pull in and play with.
Each room has its own theme, but this client was definitely most drawn to soft blues and warm woods. We decided to keep the living and dining room on the same general color theme of pale blues, but still give each space its own vibe as well. The rug we chose plays with the colors of the tile, while the white linen chairs in the dining room carry over the white base of the sectional. We nodded to the blue rug and curtains in the dining room by selecting a pale blue chair for the accent in the living room.
In the bedroom, my client wanted something more bold, more feminine, and more dramatic, while still maintaining a light but bold contrast of colors. To not overwhelm the space, we opted for a dark and dramatic large print floral wallpaper just on the inset wall of the bed nook. We balanced that darkness with a black textured accent chair and a black wood dresser with a contrasting marble top. My client fell in love with this romantic curved velvet bedframe, so we made sure to compliment that with pieces that also were softer and not as harsh in their lines and weight to give the space an overall cohesive air of elegance and romance.
Finally, in the office, my client wanted to make the space extra bright and fun. We brought in this brilliant playful tiger rug as a way to balance the seriousness that is work, and pulled the green tones from it to use for the chair. The green we chose was soft, to stay in alignment with the other sort of pastel tones we had chosen in the living room blues and the bedroom pinks.

I worked with this client to select pieces that she felt elevated her space. The budget for this design was comfortable and my client had no particular deadline in mind, so we were able to select custom pieces and source from multiple companies as we built these spaces out!
